The Boys' Final Season Faces Extended Delay, Set for 2026 Release

The popular series The Boys is set to conclude with its upcoming fifth season, but fans will have to wait longer than anticipated. Actor Karl Urban has shared that the much-awaited final season won’t be arriving for another two years.

Urban expressed his sentiments on his Instagram, where he mentioned working alongside Jeffrey Dean Morgan as the highlight of his days while filming. He signed off by hinting at the long wait for the final season, which is scheduled to release on Prime Video in two years.

The prolonged production timeline suggests that fans might not see the conclusion of The Boys until 2026. Eric Kripke, the creator of the series, had previously indicated that filming for the fifth season would start in November and continue through mid-2025. Considering the extensive post-production period the series typically requires, a 2026 release date appears plausible.

The conclusion of season 4 left viewers with several thrilling prospects. Karl Urban's character, Billy Butcher, is expected to clash with not only Antony Starr’s Homelander but also his former allies, including characters portrayed by Jack Quaid, Erin Moriarty, and Laz Alonso.

Meanwhile, fans of The Boys universe can look forward to the arrival of Gen V season 2, which is expected to debut next year on Prime Video. Vernon Sanders, head of Amazon MGM television, disclosed that production for Gen V has been ongoing for several weeks and is anticipated to release next year.

Stay tuned for more updates and comprehensive coverage on The Boys, which remains one of the top choices to watch on Prime Video.
